What is FIRST?

Founded in 1989, FIRST is a global robotics community that helps prepare young people for the future by promoting hands-on STEM experiences and community engagement. FIRST’s team-based robotics programs progress from pre-K to high school and include FIRST Lego League (FLL), FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), and FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC).Each First program is made for different grade levels, groups, and skill levels.

Each year, FIRST announces a general season theme and a specific game theme for each of its programs. The program that we are participating in, First Tech Challenge, is revealed on September 7. But FIRST is about more than just the physical competition itself. Teams also work year-round to make a positive impact through STEM outreach and community service. They aim to spread STEM and make an impact in the community to encourage STEM education and encourage the advancement of robotics.

About The Cosmobots

We are FTC team 25679 The Cosmobots. 

We are a high school robotics team made up of experienced, dedicated students and knowledgeable professionals volunteering to help us.

We are registered as a new team for the 2024-2025 season. However, our members are far from rookies. We each have multiple years of experience in FLL and FTC. 

Two of our members come from team 8790 Mohawk Warriors purple. Two more come from 4454 Mohawk Warriors green, two from 6455 Mohawk warriors red, and one member is from 24059 Dynamic Darts. Combined we have over 20 years of experience with FIRST programs and over 15 years of combined experience with FTC.
